{"id":584,"date":"2024-11-20T14:07:37","date_gmt":"2024-11-20T14:07:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/feast.org.uk\/?page_id=584"},"modified":"2025-10-02T15:41:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T15:41:19","slug":"how-feast-works","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/feast.org.uk\/rt_test\/how-feast-works\/","title":{"rendered":"How FEAST works"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-awwphexl alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-info-box uagb-block-ctcbukat uagb-infobox__content-wrap  uagb-infobox-icon-above-title uagb-infobox-image-valign-top\"><div class=\"uagb-ifb-content\"><div class=\"uagb-ifb-title-wrap\"><h1 class=\"uagb-ifb-title\"><strong>How FEAST works<\/strong><\/h1><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-info-box uagb-block-6f6da50b uagb-infobox__content-wrap  uagb-infobox-icon-above-title uagb-infobox-image-valign-top\"><div class=\"uagb-ifb-content\"><div class=\"uagb-ifb-title-wrap\"><\/div><p class=\"uagb-ifb-desc\"><strong>We are a registered charity with a board of Trustees, committed to helping those in food poverty in our area.<\/strong> <strong>As a volunteer-led charity with no paid staff, we are entirely reliant on the generosity of our supporters, our fundraising efforts, and grants.<\/strong><br><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:32px\"><strong>Our operation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-size:17px\" class=\"wp-block-list has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2\" style=\"font-size:17px\">FEAST is a registered charity with a board of Trustees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3\" style=\"font-size:17px\">We have six founder members\u2019 who run the charity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Over 120 volunteers make our operation possible (we have no paid staff).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Generous churches and organisations allow us to use their premises, where we run our community larders, hygiene hub, lunches, and other activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6\" style=\"font-size:17px\">We collect surplus food from local supermarkets and buy food from FareShare (a UK-wide network of charitable food redistributors). We also purchase food ourselves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7\" style=\"font-size:17px\">We fund our activities through the generosity of our donors, fundraising activities, and grants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:32px\"><strong>Our commitment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-size:17px\" class=\"wp-block-list has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8\">\n<li>Like all charities, we have developed a range of policies and procedures which help us to ensure that our approach is safe, consistent, fair and efficient.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have a strong ethos \u2013 we treat everyone as <strong>&#8216;guests&#8217;<\/strong>, we never judge, are respectful, and keen to really walk alongside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safeguarding \u2013 we use school and church standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confidentiality \u2013 we strictly guard the privacy of our guests and volunteers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile
